Let God Fight For You

1 Samuel 17:43-47 (KJV)  -  43 And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

44 And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.

45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

47 And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands.

The best season in any battle is when God decides to fight for you. When the greatest Warrior leads your battle, victory is sure.

One day, a man called his wife and told her that his lifestyle would change as from that night. He said that he would start bringing women into the house to spend the night with him every other night. His wife said, that was impossible and that he could not do that in their matrimonial home. He said that if she did not like his new lifestyle, she should leave the house. That night, she could not believe it when her husband came in with a woman, and they spent the night together. The wife wept all through the night. Two nights later, he brought in another woman. This continued until one day when he brought in another woman who actually came to stay permanently. He was always with this strange woman. After some time, the wife could not stand it anymore. She then came to me for counselling and told me that she wanted to move out of the house. She was however advised to continue praying. She attended our anointing service and returned home with a bottle of anointing oil.

With that oil, she anointed the whole house, including the room in which her husband was staying with the strange woman. She concentrated particularly on the bed. On the night that followed the anointing of the house, she heard her husband’s voice, screaming for help. When she got to the room, she found her husband on the floor with the strange woman sitting on him, with her hands on his neck, ready to strangulate him. The wife managed to pull off the strange woman who started to rain abuses on the man. She called him names and wondered that he was looking for, by running after women when he had such a nice woman as his wife at home. She packed her belongings and left the house. It was that night that the man got born again afresh. He asked for pardon from his wife. This was how peace began to reign in their home again. God fought the fight for this sister and she regained her husband and her home.
